While September is officially “Suicide Prevention Month”, it is always an important time to remember those we have lost and take action to ensure everyone hears a message of hope: “The World Needs You Here”.

One way to join the movement is to fundraise for Active Minds – either individually or as a team. By holding a fundraiser, you can help spread the Active Minds message of hope with your community and gather with the spirit of giving. You can speak out and help change these conversations around mental health.

Use the resources below to prepare for responding to mental health struggles with our V-A-R conversation guide, tips on what to expect when offering help, and referral resources to consider if someone is having more than a bad day.

If you are worried someone may be considering suicide, find support immediately by texting “BRAVE” to 741-741. Stay with them until they are safe.
