Emerging Scholars Fellowship

An opportunity for students to engage in fully funded, independent mental health projects.

Elevating young adult voices on mental health topics

The Active Minds Emerging Scholars Fellowship, generously supported by the Scattergood Foundation for Behavioral Health and Macy’s, provides an opportunity for students to engage in independent mental health projects free from the burdens of cost. Students are connected with an extensive network of young scholars and national experts in the field of behavioral health to continue the movement.

The Emerging Scholars Fellowship program aims to expand the body of literature, creative expression, and discourse devoted to mental health with a particular emphasis on health equity and antiracism related to young adult mental health. During the duration of the program, which runs from January to June each year, Scholars work to complete their projects as well as build a peer network and connect professionally with a national mentor and gain experience distributing their content to college audiences.
