Partnerships case studies

Helping to create a society that forever values and prioritizes mental health.

We work closely with corporations, brands, and foundations to create mutually beneficial partnerships that center the needs of our organization and Youth and Young Adults, and align with our partner’s goals. We aim to create transformational partnerships rooted in strategic focus, youth-led innovation, equity, sustainability, and a shared commitment to changing the culture around mental health.

Below are a few examples of our corporate and foundation partnerships. Thanks to all of our partners who make our work possible.

SHOWTIME/MTV x A.S.K. - Acknowledge, Support, Keep-in-Touch

SHOWTIME/MTV partnered with Active Minds to build the ‘stop, drop, and roll’ of emotional support: A.S.K. Acknowledge, Support, Keep-in-Touch. Based on the finding that most young people are more likely to turn to a friend when struggling with their mental health but nearly 70% don’t feel prepared to support them, together we launched a multimedia awareness campaign and youth-informed digital learning experience to ensure young adults feel more equipped to navigate everyday mental health conversations with their peers, reaching millions of youth and counting.

United Health Foundation x K-12 School Mental Health

In response to the escalating youth mental health crisis, in 2022, Active Minds boldly committed to bringing our proven peer-to-peer model to 1,000 K-12 schools in 1,000 days. United Health Foundation catalyzed our K-12 program, helping us launch this ambitious initiative and pilot our middle school program in 50 school districts across key states. With their partnership, Active Minds has developed new programming and tailored resources for K-12 students and educators, equipping the next generation with the mental health knowledge and tools needed to positively influence mental health cultures in their schools and communities.

RSM US Foundation x Send Silence Packing

Recognizing the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic wrought on Active Minds’ suicide awareness programming, partner RSM stepped forward to help pivot our award-winning Send Silence Packing® exhibit to an accessible digital experience. With their support, Active Minds created a new virtual complement to the traveling in-person exhibit—one that unpacks real-life stories of hope and struggle presented with clear and easily accessible tools to seek help and help others. As the online world continues to be a strong space of connection for students and young adults, we are prioritizing investing in creating a sustainable offering in our digital exhibit, a resource that lives on past the early days of the pandemic.

Murad x Stress Less Week®

Murad partnered with Active Minds to promote awareness and help-seeking resources related to stress and anxiety. We collaborated to create accessible and shareable tools to better inform our students about understanding stress vs. anxiety, managing anxiety, and helping others to care for their own stress through custom resources, and provided technical assistance for students to be able to confidently host bi-annual Stress Less Week® events on their campuses around midterms and finals seasons, reaching over 2,000 in-person students annually.

ECMC Foundation x Chapters Program EvaluationRecognizing that ongoing and robust evaluation is criti

Recognizing that ongoing and robust evaluation is critical to ensuring Active Minds’ programs are achieving their intended impact, Educational Credit Management Corporation (ECMC) and Active Minds were eager to learn more about the mental health and academic outcomes as a result of participation in the Active Minds’ Chapter Network. With ECMC’s support, we surveyed current collegiate chapter members, graduating students, alumni and chapter advisors over a three-year period to learn more about who they are and their unique experiences with their Active Minds’ Chapter and beyond. The findings were shared internally and with Chapter members to improve the Chapter member experience and to inform youth mental health programming within our own organization.

TimelyCare x Collegiate Mental Health Research

As thoughtful contributors to the field of mental health research, Active Minds partnered with TimelyCare to better understand how college students value and prioritize mental health, their concern about mental health, and their sense of belonging within their college communities. We collected and analyzed data from nearly 1,000 college and university students to provide recommendations to higher education leaders and administrators about actionable strategies to help students with prioritizing their mental health and supporting the mental health of their peers. The findings have been shared widely via research briefs and webinars.

Pinterest x Cause + Career

With a desire to play an active role in diversifying the mental health workforce, Pinterest partnered with Active Minds to launch our first workforce development tool, a career exploration platform called Cause + Career, that connects emerging professionals and young adults to mental health-related job listings, mentorship, networking and career readiness resources.
