Jade Lee

Jade is a deep-rooted Marylander originally from Gaithersburg, now based in Baltimore with a spicy calico named Milly (short for Milwaukee “the Scammer” Thompson). They come from an arts and education background with a varied work history that includes: afterschool youth programming, workshop development for Asian American and immigrant communities, printmaking and illustration, and even selling plants at their local hardware store garden center. While their jobs all had different functions, the through-line has been their constant passion for storytelling. Their guiding star is to uplift marginalized people to boldly share their stories with community. Now that Jade’s journey has led them to Active Minds, they hope their experiences will help the Speakers team connect to audiences from many different walks of life.
